Just as some cats are starting to discover some hope with the appearance and prophecy of gifted cats, rumor strikes the clans that the leader of the group, the reincarnation of TwilightSong, hasn't come. The gifted cats know the truth, Twilightpaw has been murdered--but by whom nobody can be sure.
As they deal with this problem and try to plan their next move, illness strikes the clans and even the city cats, loners, and rogues lose cats. All clans suffer heavy loses... The suffering RockClan, who already lost their territory, lose their leader.
What will become of the clans???
If you would like to have some cats killed, just PM, or post it on a board. I deleted MAI, LILLY, and FETCH's Cats since they haven't been on in over a month.

I figure we need a board about this. I'm sure you all know (since the info has been out forever) about the Avatar movie that is in theaters (as of now) July 2, 2010. Might as well discuss the iffy looking movie.
So what be everyone's opinion? I'm sure people have seen the pictures? If you haven't you need to check them out.
From the pictures and the casting I feel quite iffy about the movie. I wasn't all crazy like some people and complaining about the all white cast, which is now not so, but I just don't really like it. Dev Patel is definitely better than Jesse McCartney for Zuko, but I just don't think he's the right one for the part. I wanted to strangle myself when pretty boy was cast as Zuko, especially after I heard an interview he did. I honestly think that Dante Basco should play Zuko. He knows the part. Zuko isn't exactly a character you can learn easily, he's complex, his life and his past. Plus he looks the part. Because if any of the nations are Asian it would definitely be the Fire Nation. He's like twice Zuko's age, but he doesn't look it. If anything I think Dev Patel might be a good Sokka, instead of Jackson Rathbone. He seems like he might be able to do the goofy sarcastic boomerang guy. And then Noah Ringer as Aang...eh, I'm not sure. He kind of looks the part, but it all matters whether or not he can play the part.
So about the pictures...ew. They did Aang's tattoo weird, and his outfit looks kind of monkish, but would it have really been that hard to make him wear the outfit he does in the show? And what pisses me off the most is Zuko's appearance. They've destroyed him. First off, he has a full head of hair, and there isn't even his topknot. If you're really going to be inaccurate and have him have a full head of hair, you could at least give him the topknot like he has in season three. Plus, the scar!! It's barely visible. If they need to make anything like the show it needs to be the scar. It's such an important part of his character, it's part of him. Without it you lose so much about him. And the fire nation costumes are stupid. They made the helmets look more like middle earth gear than fire nation. I fail to see why they couldn't keep the helmets like they are in the show. And in the picture they have out of that Zuko looks like a pimp, I'm not even lying. If you've seen the picture it's totally true. His big fur coat and his posse, all that's missing is his cane and a big hat with a feather in it.

And if you haven't seen the trailer...
Yeah, looking even more iffy now. Supposedly nothing is being changed between the show and movie variations except he's taking out the "fart jokes", but this looks like it's being changed a lot. And that it's going to kind of suck.

I don't know. I think I want to see it when it comes out, maybe i'll wait til DVD so I can escape the cheesiness of it-which it will probably end up being.
There's just too many amazing characters for them to screw up..
Zuko will probably be screwed up. Iroh. Sokka, I don't see them making him funny and serious... Well, everybody.

Yeah they'll probably screw up the characters... but how are they going to do this movie without diverting from the show? Like... is it going to be a series? Because if not, then there's no way to fit everything in at once. XP Even if you leave out all the quirky little moments (wich you know they will) and filler episodes and just go with the main plot stuff... I don't think they can make it right. I just think it's going to be pretty dissappointing... but I still want to see it. XP Same way I still want to see the Death Note movie.

If you check out http://www.lastairbenderfans.com/ they have a post with some pictures of the main characters. The only one who doesn't look completely horrible is Katara. Nice to know they put some effort into Zuko by making his hairline a bit messed up by his scar *rolls eyes*. And Aang...I don't even want to get into that. Sokka is blah as well, what were they thinking casting that idiot as Sokka?

Yeah Katara and Suki are the only ones I'm okay with. XP Everyone else... bleh! And Zuko his horrible! XP Sokka too. I think they could have done worse with Aang buuut.... The guy they got to play Zuko's Uncle is horrible too. x.x Waaaaay too skinny. The Fire Lord isn't too insanely horrible though... or the General... (that's the only actor I actually know/have seen before). >.> I just wish they'd get the simple things right, man. Like Aang's arrows. XP Seriously... they just need to be blue, wth? is it really that hard? *rolls eyes* So far M. Night Shyamalan hasn't done anything that's impressed me and it doesn't look like he will soon. >.<

Here's another little thing that they're doing to pretty much kill all Avatar-ness from the movie. They're taking the Chinese calligraphy used in the show and replacing it with just random squiggles:
